Degree of Difficulty on Safaris & Tours

The degree of difficulty is an indication of the physical endurance needed for participation. While Let’s Go Catch Dinner! and the Border River rafting programs do not require much physical effort, exposure to the cool temperatures and rain can affect you in different ways, depending on how you are dressed, medical conditions you might have, and for how long you are outdoors. The Autumn Evening Experience takes place on a gravel path which features a fairly deep ascent and descent. Autumn Nature Trip trail can be challenging due to ice and snow. Explore the Village takes place on the village roads and nature trails, which at times can be ice and slippery. The Hike with Huskies can take a place on a nature path, on a gravel path or a paved road, depending on prevailing weather, and from October onwards the surfaces can be icy and slippery.

Temperatures during the summer season typically vary between 0 C and + 15 C (32 F to 59 F) and in October – November and in October – November between – 10 C and + 5 C (14 F to 41 F). Warmer temperatures are not common. You should be prepared with layered clothing, a wind and water proof outer layer and sturdy water-resistant shoes or boots.

Guiding takes place in English and / or Finnish. Guiding in French is available for private parties at a supplemental cost of € 40 / hour.
