After a challenging spring when practically all travel was halted due to Covid-19 we are now back in business again. Just two weeks ago Lake Kilpisjärvi was still covered with ice and there was snow on the tundra while now the temperature hovers around + 20 C during the day and the sun is up 24 hours a day! It snowed yesterday here in Kilpisjärvi! An occasional snow flurry in summer is a not so unusual in the Arctic – but for the holiday maker who comes here unprepared it can come as a suprise.
