What a busy winter we’ve had! A warm thank you to all our guests from around the globe!

Our winter season came to an abrupt end with the COVID-19. We are staying at home, spending time with each other and our Siberian huskies, taking time to regroup, planning for next winter – and we are ready to be of service to Kilpisjärvi visitors as soon as this unsettling situation is over, the national borders are open and travel is considered safe again.

In the meanwhile we wish you well – stay home, stay safe, dream travel and visit Kilpisjärvi in the future!

With warm regards, Martti & Sinikka

Winter lives here in Kilpisjärvi and is now back from her summer slumber! Lake Tsahkal, which is situated at the edge of the wilderness region – see photo below -, is now frozen and we can already go sledding with our Siberian Husky Team! This means an early start for our Visit Kilpisjärvi Guided Winter Experiences.

If you are visiting Kilpisjärvi in November, please send us a booking request and we’ll get right back to you with the availability of snow season activities. If your visit takes place after December 1 you can also view availability and book tours in our web shop. We look forward to hearing from you!

October is giving us chilly days as well as sunny days, a permanent snow cover and slowly freezing lakes – all sure signs of the approaching winter. If you cannot wait until December and the official start of our winter season to visit Kilpisjärvi, no worries – we offer a selection of tours which will get you acquainted with the nature and the culture of our home region – and with any luck you’ll be admiring Aurora Borealis during your trip. Have a look here!
